i’ve been kind of slack on posting.  but not on working out.  life for the last month has been crazy.  i have a week left of grad school (4 year program coming to an end) and a lot of questions about where i am going and what i am doing, not to mention a bit of financial stress.

other than that, i went back east last month and met with a clinical exercise physiologist, and that was really good.  got on a new nutritional program and exercise.  because, well, i’ve got 30lbs i’d love to lose, but despite my best efforts for years nothing has worked (there’s something up with my metabolism, but no one’s been able to figure it out).   anyway, she’s got me keeping really detailed food diaries (and to my surprise, i learned i had been eating too little!) and working out at specific heart rates.   it’s been tough, actually since she’s required me to eat more calories than i’m used to and to be consistent about it… but i think it’s doing well, i’m starting to notice a bit of a difference now that i’m 3 weeks in.

though, i could just be hallucinating… i’m so tired these days, school stress and all kinds of stuff.  and this week, of all weeks, i haven’t gotten it together to exercise as much as i’d like, i’ve been picking sleep instead, but am planning to get back to a good 5 or 6 day workout schedule next week when this is allllll over!

*sigh*

ok, must stop procrastinating and get back to my studying…last exam tonight.

finally got back to class after missing the last three. don’t know what my deal was last week. anyway, 1st class without Kong. Niko was teaching and he wasn’t bad, there were 4 of us there this morning. i like small classes like that. we got to try out some speedbag work and the double-ended bag, which made me feel totally inept, it was kinda funny. but it was good to get an introduction to those bags so maybe now i can go to they gym and not feel like an idiot when i try to use them myself (well, who am i kidding, i’ll still feel that way… but, oh well). and he mentioned maybe having the 6am class everyday, which would be good. cos i could get there more often and not have to go on my crazy long thursday… so, we’ll see.

didn’t get quite as a high intensity workout as i had been with kong, but i think niko will get into the swing of things, and it’ll pick up. also, we did a lot more technique, which was kinda nice… hopefully we’ll mix it up a bunch!

ugh.  this past week has been so crazy.  i didn’t get nearly enough exercise in.  between my schedule and the desperate need to sleep, i just couldn’t get myself to do it.  i was exhausted enough anyway.  for some reason having my menses (sorry for the overshare) always wipes me out, and even thought of working out made me even more tired.

that said it was good to do something real today.  went on a really good walk, found a nice loop (myrtle - boundary - haller - maple) with a couple nice hills that really got my heart and calves going.  then finished with a kong circuit set.

ha.  not really.  but rudy got me out dancing last night, and we had such a good time.  totally moving it for 2+ hours.  i was definitely sweaty and kinda sore today, not going to lie :).    and who said exercise can’t be fun?

i was at the rugby tourney alllllllllllllll weekend. it’s so fabulous. i love the game! but sunday, walked there from tim’s and back, and it was definitely a good 25 min each way. and we kept a good pace. i know, this doesn’t really count as exercise per se, especially given the quantities of beer that we drank, but it’s better than nothing. hard to get much else in over the weekend as we were at the games for 10+ hours a day…

and NZ won!!!!! :)
